DJ Shadow recently dropped his latest album title “The Less You Know, the Better” on Verve Records. His fourth studio album, DJ Shadow combines samples, beats, musical instruments spanning many different genres. Contributions to the album came from a wide range of artists including Talib Kweli, Yukimi Nagano, Posdnuos, and Tom Vek.
The album’s cover, designed by American artist Tony Papesh, depicts a smartphone painting over the album’s title. Many themes permeate from this album, like how technology can not only help but isolate individuals. Things can come and go in an instant. The album gives the listener a sense of timelessness, rather than focusing on one style, DJ Shadow engages you with varying sounds from different eras.
