Updated Nas video, after the pic gallery.
Last Saturday, we headed towards Mountain View to The Shoreline Amphitheater and attended Rock the Bells 2011. I think its pretty dam funny that Mountain View is considered San Francisco, since it doesn’t resemble “SF” one bit. Either way, it was a big venue, we had VIP tickets and a camel back full of goodies.

Rock the Bells is an event for that die hard hip hop fanatic. A Festival dedicated to Hip Hop, staying true to the classics, reliving/reviving what’s legendary and hyping/distributing what’s new. Staying positively lifted, we attacked the clashing performance timelines, Food/Clothing vendors, the beautiful smell of marijuana, and clusters of sweaty drunk folks. Without a doubt, we enjoyed the show.

Here’s some footage I shot of Mos Def and Talib Kweli performing as Blackstar live.

They Run through Thieves in the night (Blackstar), Umi Says (Mos Def), History (Mos Def feat Talib Kweli), and Supreme, Supreme(Talib Kweli). It was a full set, and that was just there ending. Blackstar lit the stage and delivered true lyrical hip hop, spittin through some crazy dope mics.

We attended, and experienced Souls of Mischief (Hieroglyphics), Killa Priest ,Big K.R.I.T, Exile, Fashawn, Blu, Dj Premier, Pete Rock, Mobb Deep, Az, Mos Def and Talib Kweli as Blackstar, Nas, Common, Black moon, Lauryn Hill and left with a massive crowd of Immortal Wu Disciples. Even with Lauryn Hill’s iconic encore performance alongside Nas, it was clear that 36 Chambers and the Paid Dues Stage was in full effect, sound clashing and all. All in All, Nas was straight illin it performing the eff out of that album. Definitely the highlight of my day.

Check my shots of Common, Mos Def, Talib Kweli, Nas,Lauryn Hill, with a couple shots of Az, Pete Rock, Dj Premier, Mobb Deep, and Lauryn Hill.
