I need a dollar, a dollar, a dollar that’s what I need…

This is what I was listening to, when I came across this animated film. It’s a great song that is timeless and Aloe Blacc has definitely evolved from Emanon to bless us soulfully, and it’d be dope to interview him but for now,  it actually has nothing to do with the film except that it’s about not having enough money. Timing is crazy. Made me think of all the times when I didn’t expect anything tho…

I should actually say “we” because, sometimes what we may know is a complete mystery.  I remember the first time I had a savings account I was so confused at why I needed this? Imagine, a 16 year old who’d already been saving a bunch of cash from his newspaper route, working for the family and doing chores. Giving all of that to some strange grown ups who were smiling at me too much and wanted my money will be safe with them, wasn’t easy. Even now, 2011, still kinda scary.  But I was young, and this was how my Mom was going to help me begin to understand how a bank account works. Then, surprise, i grow up a bit and realize I can buy cool sh#t! And now I have to work more to get it! And sometimes I can get it, but just pay for the rest of it later! YES! Credit cards, loans that are hard to pay off, and overdraft fees. There are way more things to people’s financial issues of course, but the common thing that we’ve all been through some type of debt. And for some, this frustration is what caused them to seek the truth about where it’s all going and eventually realized there are missing pieces. At the end of the day, it would be hard, not impossible, but hard to live without these necessities we now all feel we absolutely must have…and even need!  Listen, we all here understand that times are tough, and the truth can help set you free in some way or another, but this 30 minute animated film, written and produced by Tad Lumpkin, should spark something that will really have you wondering. It’s full of facts and fun. They should show this to kids at school.

Demand the truth? You got it. (plus a few laughs at funny looking animation)
