It’s undeniable that The Bay Area has spawned & cultivated, a plethora of unique music producers. Music producers/writers that have been behind many successful hits, out in the music world. Berkeley, CA natives, David “Campa” Benjamin Singer-Vine, (songwriter and vocalist) and Niles “Cyrano” Hollowell-Dhar (songwriter, vocalist, and producer) of the Hip Hop/Elec-hop duo of The Cataracs are the perfect elucidation, of just that.
“Who are The Cataracs”, you ask?
Check it out, they are producers behind LA-based group Far East Movement’s hottest track, “Like a G6“. (Off the Free Wired album.). The song featured The Cataracs themselves, alongside female vocalist, DEV. The song’s success reached the #1 spot on the Billboard Hot 100, for 2 weeks, in November of 2010. Err… can ya say, “Impressive!”?
The Cataracs have also worked with New Boyz, The Pack, Glasses Malone, 50 Cent, et cetera.
Not to mention, both Campa and Cyrano have their own solo projects poppin’ off!
Sit back and enjoy these ear ticklers:
Campa: “Close Your Eyes“
Stunnaman feat. Cyrano: “Never Find Love”
The Cataracs Feat. DEV “Top of the World”
