Recently made public, Altered Focus: Burma was filmed in the summer of 2009, follows three film makers and skateboarders including Harmony and Analog UK rider Ali Drummond, as they travel across Yangon and Mandalay. The group were not only just tourist but volunteered time to give back to the surrounding communities. Meeting up with the local skaters and discovering hidden skate spots, the group also ran into young Buddhist Monks who have never seen a skateboard. “Such simple experiences, which are normally beyond them, really makes you realize how fortunate we are in the west, but more importantly, raise questions as to why they don’t have access to such pleasures.” said Alex. The short film captures the unseen differences between the two countries and the political unrest there.
